We all get motivated to do things...eat better, work harder to get that promotion/bonus, exercise more, be a better spouse, and in the end we all want to be the best version of ourselves. This is easy to say and hope for, but if you don't take action, it's only a wish.
The first step is to write down what you want. This makes it real and will be there on those days when you are weak and your mind tells you that it's ok not do something because you are tired or you just don't feel like it. This is where that piece of paper can hold you accountable (if you let it), as it is what you wanted when your brain was working for you, not against!
Next, you need to make a plan on how to do what you want to do. What are the steps needed to get to where I want. Again, don't just think of them, write them down so you can look at them daily to remind you what to do, otherwise this busy world will distract.
Even after you have your roadmap to success drawn up, the hard part begins...the taking action! This is where the persistence comes in, because if you don't stay strong each and every day, you will take a detour and may never get back on the main road to success. One thing to remember is that if a detour does come about and takes you off course, don't give up! You have the map, get back on course, don't let one little detour ruin what your best self wants.
