Nutrition is a key element to our well being, both physically and mentally. Unfortunately, we live in a world where "Big Food" dominates our attention through marketing and accessibility. "Big Food" companies don't care about you...they care about the bottom line. So, when it comes to the ingredients and quality of the food they supply us with...I consider most of it trash.
I grew up with a mean "sweet tooth", but what I didn't realize is my cravings for sweets (sugar) was partly do to the fact that my whole life the food I had consumed contained a lot of Sugar and Preservatives. Both addictive with sugar being one of the most addictive substances on earth.
I ended up beating my addiction to sugar about 5 years ago and it was one of the toughest things I've ever had to do. I was a big drinker and quitting sugar was much tougher than quitting drinking, for me.
Although, I "quit" sugar I still had my cravings for sweets, so a few years ago I started creating my own healthy sweets out of necessity to keep me from consuming copious amounts of sugar, which by the way, creates massive inflammation in our bodies which results in most of the things that go wrong with us...sickness, diseases, cancer, etc.
Since creating the sweets for myself, I wanted to share and help others like myself who love sweets, but also want to take care of themselves by living a healthy life.
